Join us for a Stockwell Live special: a duo of virtuoso violinist Sara Trickey and star pianist and arranger Iain Farrington, with a programme that takes us from the serenity of Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending and joy of Kreisler's memorable Liebesfreud, to an after-dark delving into the world of George Gershwin and Irving Berlin in a stunning series of piano solos from I Got Rhythm to Puttin' On The Ritz.

Sara Trickey is an award-winning solo violinist and chamber musician who studied at the Royal College of Music, Cambridge University and at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

As an experienced concerto player Sara has performed most of the major works for violin and orchestra. She has performed concertos with the City of London Sinfonia, the Orchestra of St John’s Smith Square, the New London Soloists Ensemble, the South Bank Sinfonia, the Haydn Chamber Orchestra, the Birmingham Chamber Orchestra, the St. David’s Chamber Orchestra and the Ten Tors Orchestra among others. Recent recordings include the David Matthews double concerto for violin and viola with the English Symphony Orchestra and violist Sarah-Jane Bradley; a recording of Fauré and David; and the world premiere recording of Mathias’ violin sonatas with Iwan Llewelyn Jones.
As a chamber musician she's a founder member of the Odysseus Piano Trio, plays in the The Rossetti Ensemble, and plays in a violin duo with Andrew Watkinson, leader of the Endellion Quartet. Prior to forming these groups, Sara led the Bronte String Quartet for six years, winning the Royal Overseas League competition and second prize in the Cremona International Quartet competition.
Living locally in Stockwell, she also enjoys teaching – including at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Iain Farrington has an exceptionally busy and diverse career as a pianist, organist, composer and arranger. He has made numerous recordings, and broadcast on BBC Television, Classic FM and BBC Radio 3. Through his multi-faceted work as a musician, he aims to bring live music to as wide an audience as possible. Iain’s concert programmes often mix popular and jazz elements into the traditional Classical repertoire. He's performed at all the major UK venues, and internationally in the USA, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong and across Europe. He has worked with many of the country's leading musicians, including Sir Bryn Terfel, Sir Paul McCartney and Lesley Garrett.
He achieved screen fame playing piano in front of over 1bn people, in Rowan Atkinson's performance as Mr Bean at the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony.
